The best way to do so is to check out some of the best comedies that Bollywood has made. Hindi flicks are a great way to reconnect with your youth and find the humor in the little things in life.

While many of these movies have had complex scripts, some of them were just brainless comedies. They were the perfect combination of time pass & ‘leave your brain at home’ to make us giggle uncontrollably. How many of these movies have you seen? How many with friends? Revisit these gems so that you can have a great time and leave your worries behind.

Who could have imagined that Akshay Kumar and Sunil Shetty would be outshined by Paresh Raval? Hera Pheri is the perfect combination of comedic timing, brilliance and sheer excellence in comedy. It’s one of the funniest movies created and is going to be almost 20 years old in 2020. Imagine that – we’re getting older, but the movie stays evergreen.

2. Andaz Apna Apna (1994)

Literally translates to everyone’s got their own swag. This movie is an instant classic. Fun fact, according to Aamir Khan, the movie didn’t do that well at the box office because it wasn’t promoted. Nobody believed that two of the greatest superstars were in one movie, together. It started to gain a cult following after it was released again and promoted.

It’s one of our favorites!

3. Hungama (2003)

A comedy classic, and quite controversial for its time. There’s a lot of distance that this movie creates when it comes to what people liked and what critics liked. It’s got a stellar cast and an interesting twist in the end.

4. Houseful (2010)

Houseful was really one of the first few times that comedy was combined with luxury and class. The sets were elegant, the cast was stunning and the whole movie looked like it was shot in a 5-star. You were laughing with them, but you also wanted to be them. That’s one of the reasons why it was such an impactful film.

5. Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (1983)

Another artful comedy, JBDY was an old-time hit which was a dark satire on what was happening in our country. It’s a really funny film and a look at how India was 40 years ago.

6. Dostana (2008)

Karan Johar spun magic with this blockbuster of a film. Dostana really opened up our eyes to new forms of comedies and allowed us to reimagine how Indian films perform internationally. Dostana was a hilarious movie with so many twists and turns that we were in splits.

7. Coolie No 1 (1995)

There are few people that come close to Govinda when it comes to comedy. The 90’s were all about Govinda’s moves and Karishma’s acting skills. We’ve never seen a movie that comes close to this one when it comes to comedy.

8. Judwaa (1997)

Oochi hai building! Remember the classics of the 90s? We do. That’s why we love Salman in Judwaa. We can go on and on, but this movie is a universally loved comedy flick. It is one such classic whose remake has equally made us all laugh in the theatres.

9. GolMal (2006)

Who would have known that mindless comedy, was just about to launch into the stratosphere? Golmaal proved all its critics wrong by being one of the most successful comedies at that time. There have been many sequels to follow, with big stars participating in them continuing to be great at the box office.

10. 3 Idiots (2009)

Who doesn’t love this brilliant masterpiece by Aamir Khan? It’s been one of the best comedies of all time, and it has a heart – something that most others lack. It had a great script, relatable characters and everybody loved Rancho. 3 Idiots opened up our minds to a new form of comedy, one that didn’t need to rely on cheap punchlines or dumb dialogues.
