Generous Wedding Couples of Surat
Over 250 couples at a mass wedding in Surat donated lacs of money to the families of the soldiers Martyrs of Pulwama in the attack. Dewashi Manek, a businessman from Surat, cancelled a lavish feast on his daughter’s wedding and donated a whopping 11 Lakhs to the martyrs’ families and he also gave Rs 5 Lakhs to the service agencies. His daughter Ami had a simple wedding and used the entire money for bringing monetary relief to all the grieving families of our soldiers.
Noble Contributions by our Celebs
Many celebrities have come forward to financially help the families of Martyrs of Pulwama. The Reliance Foundation volunteered for assuming responsibility for the education and the employment of the children of these Jawans as well as for the livelihoods of their families. Former cricketer Virendra Sehwag is going to bear the education expenses of the martyrs’ children. Indians donated an unprecedented Rs. 7 crores to Bharat Ke Veer, the official online contribution platform within just 36 hours of the attack. Bharat Ke Veer is the fund raising initiative started by Government of India’s Ministry of Home Affairs on the behalf of the Armed Forces. Launched in 2018 by Home Minister Rajnath Singh, the initiative is also helped and supported by Akshay Kumar. Actor Amitabh Bachchan has pledged to donate Rs. 5 Lakhs to each of the families who lost their sons, husbands, and fathers at Pulwama.
This is the time when all the Indians, forgetting their differences, are standing together in solidarity because these are the times when our unity gets tested and we Indians can never be divided.
