Prajakta Koli or as she is popularly known as Mostly Sane is a name synonymous in the YouTube and Video Blogging industry. With nearly 9 lakh followers on Instagram and 2.8 million subscribers on YouTube Mostly Sane has mesmerized audience all over the world with her quirky and funny videos.
On November 12th, 2018, Mostly Sane created a mind-blowing, jaw-dropping video that punches the society right on its face. The song takes a dig on trolls and cyberbullies, misogyny, homophobia among many other issues. This hip-hop track has some hard-hitting lyrics and hits right in the feels. The song is an initiative by YouTube’s Creators For Change, channel’s one of the biggest and most lucrative project. Along with Prajakta other content creators like Niharika NM, Girliyapa and 48 other YouTubers from across the globe were chosen. The idea was to create videos talking about issues like hate, racism, xenophobia, extremism, etc. and promoting tolerance.
That being said, the video has been selected by the United Nations and it will be shown in New York on the occasion of International Day for Tolerance on November 16. With this Prajakta also becomes the only Indian YouTuber who has been selected and will be invited to screen her video on that day. Prajakta has already won The Viral Queen of 2017 (IWM Digital Awards) and was previously invited by former US President Barack Obama in December 2017.
On getting selected Prajakta was at loss of words and has this to say:
“It’s yet to sink in! I wasn’t over the news of being selected as a Creators For Change ambassador when this one came along. I feel so grateful to get to speak at places like the UN.” She further adds – “It all came about organically. On World Mental Health Day in 2016, I put out a video asking my subscribers to talk about their feelings. And in the following weeks, we got thousands of emails, most of which came close to body shaming. That’s how I picked that up and it continued.”
