Sara Ali Khan to play the lead role in Simmba against Ranveer Singh

Yes, you heard that right! Finally it’s confirmed that Sara Ali Khan will be the leading lady in Rohit Shetty’s and Karan Johar’s joint venture Simmba opposite Ranveer Singh. The movie will release on 28th December, 2018 worldwide. Ever since the release of its first poster showing Ranveer Singh as a crazy cop, everyone was eager to know who is the love interest in the movie. Simmba is said to be the official remake of Jr. NTR’s Telugu movie.

A statement released by Dharma Productions read “after the release of the movie’s first poster , everyone was curious to know who would be cast in female lead role. And now, it’s confirmed, Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar have signed Sara Ali Khan for Simmba against Ranveer Singh, who plays a notorious cop in the movie.”

Amrita Singh and Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara Ali Khan, is already roped in a movie against Sushant Singh Rajput, Kedarnath directed by one of the very able directors in the film industry, Abhishek Kapoor and this is her second big project in a row. The movie, Kedarnath, was in the news because of a tiff between the directors and the producers regarding its increasing budget. Kedarnath is also expected to release on 28th December, 2018 and if the makers of both the movies will stick to the same release date, it will be two releases in the same week for the starlet Sara Ali Khan.

The movie is a cop-drama, co-produced by Dharma productions, Rohit Shetty’s RS Picturez and Reliance Entertainment. Ranveer Singh who plays a cop is named as Sangram Bhalerao, but is popularly called by his nickame Simmba. The actor in an interview with IANS said “I am really very excited about this project. Rohit Shetty is the king of masala movies and I think this is something I was born to do and I am eagerly looking forward to it.”
