If you are away from home and missing family, then Koffee with Karan’s latest episode might be the best thing that you can watch right now. The episode has Abhishek and Shweta Bachchan Nanda as the guests and watching them is like sitting with your sibling across the table. From showering unconditional support to brutally roasting each other- they were super funny and so damn relatable. You might assume that they are going to be very formal and courteous, given their celebrity status, but NO, they are like every other bro-sis duo and they are SO LIKE US!
When Karan attempted at complimenting Shweta for her budding career as a writer as well as designer, he passed a mean comment which made Abhishek laugh his head off. He literally just couldn’t stop his giggles! This was soon followed by the inevitable question ‘Who is mom’s favourite?’ The answer, as it turns out, was Abhishek and clearly, Shweta wasn’t happy with that. She called Abhishek and Jaya’s relationship as that of Jaya and SRK’s bond in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham minus the pooja thali! Apparently, he is the ‘aankho ka taara’ of Jaya and we are not even surprised.
No matter how much Abhishek annoys Shweta, she becomes super protective when it comes to her brother. The hatred he often gets subjected to on social media makes Shweta very worried and gives her sleepless nights. That was very sweet but just after revealing her concerns, it didn’t take the duo long to jump back into roasting each other.
Abhishek revealed that only Shweta can handles their mother when she has to face the paparazzi and that is why, the family always sends her with Jaya on red carpets. This led to Shweta in spilling out his embarrassing habits of sucking his thumb and wetting the bed in childhood. Another secret that was blurted out was that their family group on WhatsApp is exactly like ours where the elders keep sending videos and motivational images.
Also, Abhishek and Shweta said she doesn’t find any of her brother’s friends attractive as apparently, he has no friends! Shweta was on fire and was in no mood to stop. She even said she has to ‘tolerate’ his sense of humour and this didn’t go down well with him. He failed at giving it back as she also blamed him for always telling only his side of the story. She also said he is very manipulative and then, they went back to making fun of each other.
As the episode reached its end, Shweta won the hamper and Abhishek’s attitude was so like every brother losing to his sister!
After the Pandya-Rahul’s disappointing episode, this one was like a breath of fresh air and there is absolutely no denying the fact that how raw, real and relatable this brother-sister duo was.
