Due to the Western Disturbance which has induced cyclonic circulation which that is approaching the Western Himalayas, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand have experienced snowfall this month a lot more than the last few years. This snowfall in the month of January is going to be the highest across the last couple of months.  Srinagar has already gotten 54 centimeters of snow, which is very close to the whole month’s normal snowfall of 57 centimeters. The city is expecting more than the usual snowfall this winters. Himachal Pradesh is also on the line of getting the record snowfall. Kullu district’s Kothi has already received 110 cm of snow in January. This is 15 times more than what it got last year, which was just 7.5 cm. Shimla has gotten 8.5cm of snow that is more than what it got last January, which was 5cm. It expects to receive even more snowfall in the coming days.
